Who runs this site

Hackup's (https://hackups.blogspot.com) is a personal blog written by Ankur Mehta. It is hosted on Blogger, a service operated by Google.

What this site collects

Hosting (Blogger / Google)

When you visit the blog, Google's Blogger infrastructure processes standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, referring page and the pages you open. That processing is controlled by Google under its own terms and privacy policy.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

The blog uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-LFFNRB2M4P) to understand aggregated traffic: how many people visit, which posts are popular, roughly where readers are, and which devices they use. Analytics sets cookies or similar identifiers. I use this data only to improve the writing and the site. I do not sell it, and I do not try to identify individual readers from it.

Besides Analytics and Blogger's own cookies, the blog's front-end may store a single preference in your browser's localStorage called hk-theme (light or dark mode). That value never leaves your device and is not used for tracking.

Suspend backoff wakelock on android device

This is a non hacking post.. This is about the suspend backoff wakelock that is seen on some devices running android.. when you check in apps such as better battery stats , you can see that the suspend backoff wakelock is active for most of the time. and hence the phone does not go into deep sleep. due to this there is heavy battery drain and the phone's battery lasts for only few hours.. The main solution that you would find for this wakelock online, if you have searched for it, will be ragrding some problem on google chrome ... However, I found out that this suspend backoff wakelock can occur through another app.. the culprit app is avg antivirus.. the wakelock is active whenever you use the app lock feature of avg antivirus. as long as an app is locked with the avg feature, the wakelock will be active..
